Once again our streak of trying to help the home team failed. The Akron Rubber Ducks lost on Lebron James dedication night. His hometown is Akron & while Cleveland is sad for him to go the City of Akron is still proud of their favorite son. Russ was wearing Lebron socks and a local TV station filmed them.
We sat through two rain delays and were 2 of 45 fans left at the end of the game. We had entered a contest where you throw tennis balls onto the field after it was over to win a “prize”. We turned out to be the only people who was left that had tennis balls so they just gave us the prizes…that’s right…plural. Among our winnings is a ticket to the fair, 1 green fee at a local muni, a ticket to the Canton, OH museum of art, 1 round of mini golf and tickets to watch The Incredibles back at the ballpark Aug. 4th.
There was also a $5 gift card for a nice Italian restaurant that we enjoyed for lunch today. If anyone is coming to the greater Akron area in the next few months let me know. I can hook you up with some deals.
All in all we loved the atmosphere & the friendly people at the minor league park. It felt like an ever so slightly bigger David Allen Ballpark with beer. Oh and a ton more urinals…
Tonight we have tickets to see the Indians play the Pirates at 7:00. Let’s hope for good weather and a V for Chief Wahoo!!
